Yesterday, we hired Grumpy Cat as an editor and then we had an Employee Of The Month party for her, but she wasn’t really into it.
Free birth control causes U.S. abortion rates to plummet
Free birth control could prevent 1,060,370 unplanned pregnancies and 873,250 abortions a year in the U.S., according to a study. No way. Wow. That’s so surprising and unexpected. Birth control actually helps women not get accidentally pregnant? Wow.
It’s like women knew all along what they needed to protect their bodies from unwanted pregnancy…
OMFG NO WAI~~
I just read this article in the post. Typically for every 1,000 sexually active teens 34 of them deal with unwanted pregnancy. In the control group using freely provided birth control (their choice of pills, injections or surgical implants) that number drops down to 7. Again for every 1,000 sexually active teens there typically results in 20 abortions. In the control group given free birth control, that number drops to 4. FUCKING 4.
Obviously if you’re anti-abortion you’d be pro-birth control but apparently that’s just not the case.
… The engineering of learning is very often puffed up… There is no one who can say that this or that is the best way to know things, to feel things, to see things, to remember things, to apply things, to connect things, and that no other will do as well… To make such a claim is to trivialize learning, to reduce it to a mechanical skill… A reason… is different from a motivation. Within the context of schooling, motivation refers to a temporary psychic event in which curiosity is aroused and attention is focused… It must not be confused with a reason for being in a classroom, for listening to a teacher, for taking an examination, for doing homework, for putting up with school even if you are not motivated. For school to make sense, the young, their parents, and their teachers must have a god to serve, or, even better, several gods. If they have none, school is pointless. To put it simply, there is no surer way to bring an end to schooling than for it to have no end.

Am I the only one who semi-used Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide tips in school?
I probably am the only one. I’m such a dork. I mention this because I just saw a .gif with that one guy with a bowl cut from Ned’s Declassified. It reminded me of how I used to watch it for the laughs, and sometimes even the tips, since middle school seemed scary to me at first. Iunno, just a thought. LOLOLOLOL
